E3 07: The "real" people at the Microsoft conference

Cindy
We wanted to adopt Cindy as a secondary mom. Her favorite game is Diablo. Not Nintendogs or Brain Training or Carol Vorderman's Sudoku. Diablo. That's bad ass. She also name checked Singstar, Zelda, GTA, Guitar Hero and a whole bunch of retro classics. She was also excited because she had just ordered a Wii for her kids. That's what we call a happy family. And when shetalked about games giving brains the opportunity to dance, man, we almost cried.

Do you play videogames?
I love videogames. When I was young I used to play Space Invaders. I was there when Pong was invented! [laughs] It was very exciting and when you look at the graphics now, it's amazing. And how they have the intertwining storylines and the Easter eggs and all that stuff they put in... I think it's just awesome. It gives peoples imaginations the chance to dance.

Wow. That's beautiful. Your kids must love you.
Actually they do for a lot of reasons. I understand videogames are a great way to escape, but you always have to make sure reality is checked in.

When the media kicks off and says that videogames are evil can you see the other side of the argument?
Of course, when the media says anything is bad you should always see the other side of the argument and then make an educated decision.

I don't have the energy to really hate anything properly. Most things I think are OK or inoffensively average. I do love quite a lot of stuff as well, though.
