While its directors have assured us that Captain America: Civil War (opens in new tab) is definitely not another Avengers movie (opens in new tab) it has all the hallmarks of one. It boasts a massive cast of iconic Marvel characters and will introduce two newcomers; Spider-Man and Black Panther. So it seems a little.... strange (ahem) that the title character of Marvel's next movie isn't involved. That of course doesn't mean he's not got an opinion on the superhero battle.
As you may know, the movie finds the Avengers split into two camps: Team Cap oppose the Superhuman Registration Act while Team Iron Man support it. There you have it - he's on Team Cap. It's a bit of a surprise either way, really, as in the comics Doctor Strange objects to the fight and chooses to stay out of it. But as we know, the Marvel Cinematic Universe tends to take liberties with its source material so we might see the sorcerer supreme join forces with Cap in a future movie. Avengers: Infinity War perhaps?
