Black Friday VR headset deals could be really exciting in 2024. We're coming off the back of a 2023 which saw some brilliant new headsets launch, and in November 2024 we're bound to see their lowest-ever prices. That's even more assured since Apple is entering the fray - the Apple Vision Pro, as expensive as it is, could drive more interest to the market, especially those cheaper alternatives.

It's a little hard to predict how the VR market will shape up toward the end of this year. At the time of writing, Apple Vision Pro is about to launch, but with a very high price of entry, and a history of devices like these never really being supported as widely as they could be, it's tough to say if Spatial Computing will become the new norm or not. In other news, it's rumored that Samsung will be releasing its own headset at some point this year, and Sony is cooking up a very innovative XR headset for 3D content creators. With PSVR 2 and the Meta Quest 3 already garnering some positive attention, this could be another big year for the best VR headsets.

While we'll list the best deals and offers on this page when they start pouring in, for now, it's important to get you prepped. What headset should you go for and how much should you save? We're answering your frequently asked questions down below, and below that, you'll find a list of last year's best offers. We hope that will help you, and give you an idea of what prices you might see come November. When will the Black Friday VR headset deals start?

Wondering when the offers will start rolling in? Well, Black Friday traditionally occurs after Thanksgiving and on the very last Friday of November - and the same is true this year. In other words, we're anticipating Black Friday VR headset deals to take place on November 24th, 2023.

Not that you'll have just 24 hours to take advantage of these sales. Black Friday begins earlier and finishes later every year, and we typically see savings get going as of mid-November. Cyber Monday will also provide another great opportunity for major discounts on November 27th, 2023.

Black Friday VR headset deals - what to expect

PSVR 2 kicked off an amazing year for VR headsets in 2023, and it looks as though the Apple Vision Pro could do a similar thing in 2024. As mentioned, it's hard to know what to expect from this new device throughout the year. It's launching to a very exciting market, but to many people who simply will not be able to afford it.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of gaming potential is capitalized on in its first year on the market, and what reports come back from early adopters and critics. It's unlikely we see any Black Friday discounts on it, regardless of how it shakes up the market - although we won't rule this out entirely. What's far more likely is that we'll see discounts on the rival headsets that appeal more to the mass market. The Meta Quest 3 will be a year old by the time Black Friday VR headset deals roll in, so we're bound to see some fun bundles or price drops for it across the board.

And what's to come from Sony? PSVR 2 is yet to garner more than its Horizon launch bundle in terms of mainstay AAA support, so if PlayStation wants to ship more headsets and convince the market it's worth having, it'll need to offer more in 2024. The headset itself is brilliant, and it does have great games already on it - it just needs that same level of first-party excellence we know from the PS4 and PS5 to make it sing. Admittedly, if it's competing against these standalone mixed-reality devices, it could use a few more bundles too.

Elsewhere in the market, we've got Sony's 3D content creation device which is very intriguing. This isn't for gaming, but it's set to launch later this year, so it'll be fun to watch how its price, reception, and inevitable modding go. It's also been rumoured that Samsung is coming out with its own headset which packs a more powerful processing punch in it than Meta's Quest 3.

Should Samsung enter the mixed-reality headset race, it could be a very interesting year. Before Facebook bought Oculus, Samsung worked closely with it to produce the Gear VR headsets that worked with Samsung Galaxy phones. These were wonderful little portals into VR while they lasted - so Samsung already has expertise in the market, and most likely some nostalgic fans who are hungry for more.

Perhaps the biggest question for a lot of VR enthusiasts in 2024 will be about the PC options. It's been ages since we saw the release of a new PC-dedicated VR headset. Could Valve be cooking up an Index 2? Could HTC have a Vive Pro 3 up its sleeve?

We'll be covering news as it happens in the VR market this year, so be sure to stay tuned. Either way, newer devices can only be a good thing when it comes to Black Friday deals since they give more reason for older stuff to get discounted. No doubt, the Meta Quest 2 will see some ridiculous price dips and accessory offers.

Image

HTC Vive Pro 2 Headset | $799 $574 at Amazon

Last year's best VR headset deals in the UK

Image

PSVR 2 | £529.99 £499.99 at EE
Save £30 - EE trumped Amazon by slashing an extra tenner off its previous deal price. This gave you a nice £30 saving on the PSVR 2. Given the fantastic features on offer with this headset, taking advantage of any available discount was seriously worth considering.

Image

PSVR 2 + Horizon Call of the Mountain | £589 £549.99 at Amazon
Save £40 - Much like the above, this deal got you the PSVR headset and controllers, plus a great game to help you enjoy them. We didn't see any widespread discounts of this bundle throughout the year, so a £40 cut during Black Friday was more than welcome when it arrived.

Image

Meta Quest 3 | £479 at Currys
Save £1 - In the UK, the best place to grab a Quest 3  launch bundle was at Currys where you could get a *checks notes* £1 discount compared to other retailers.

Image

Meta Quest 2 128GB | £399 £249 at Amazon
Save £150 - The Meta Quest 2 128GB dropped by £150 if you went for the 128GB SKU during Black Friday sales. That was a pretty good 38% discount for a headset whose specs still aren't that out of date.

Image

PSVR 2 + Gran Turismo 7 | £589 £559 at Currys
Save £30 -
PSVR 2 was one of the best new pieces of gaming hardware to launch in 2023. In this deal, you got the visor and controllers, plus one of its most exciting games with a combined saving of £30. The headset alone usually costs £529 in the UK, so you basically got GT7 for just £20 in this bundle. Nice!

Image

PICO 4 + Holiday bundle | £379 £259 at Amazon
Save £120 - We haven't had a chance to test out a Pico 4 yet, but from what we hear, this is the best true rival to Meta Quest 2 and 3 as a standalone headset. This bundle offered a 31% discount and came with Arizona Sunshine 2 and two extra games.

Image

HTC Vive Pro 2 Headset | £779 £479 at Amazon
Save £300 - The HTC Vive Pro 2 was discounted in the UK as well. We don't see it come down in price all too often, so it can be hard to recommend compared to the cheaper alternatives on the shelves. When those Black Friday discounts do roll in though, it's great to make the most of them.

Image

HTC Vive Pro 2 Full Kit | £1,399 £899 at Amazon
Save £500 - The HTC Vive Pro 2 is one of the best VR headsets money can buy if you play on a gaming PC. In this deal, you saved a massive £500 and got the full kit, complete with controllers and room sensors. Getting the full kit under £900 is a rare thing, so this wasn't to be missed.

Ever since playing Journey at the age of 15, I’ve been desperate to cover video games for a living. After graduating from Edinburgh Napier University with a degree in Journalism, I contributed to the Scottish Games Network and completed an Editorial Internship over at Expert Reviews. Besides that, I’ve been managing my own YouTube channel and Podcast for the last 7 years. It’s been a long road, but all that experience somehow landed me a dream job covering gaming hardware. I’m a self-confessing PlayStation fanboy, but my experience covering the larger business and developer side of the whole industry has given me a strong knowledge of all platforms. When I’m not testing out every peripheral I can get my hands on, I’m probably either playing tennis or dissecting game design for an upcoming video essay. Now, I better stop myself here before I get talking about my favourite games like HUNT: Showdown, Dishonored, and Towerfall Ascension.
