Even before its debut trailer, the Warcraft movie had fans wondering just how much of the final film would rely on computer-generated sorcery to depict the fantastical world of Azeroth. And while there's no two ways about it - the movie will have plenty of CG - director Duncan Jones has shown there are some impressive physical sets to gawk at as well.
Over the weekend, Jones tweeted pictures of the movie's Stormwind set, giving eager fans a good look at the Alliance stronghold.

The first picture is impressive, but it's the second one that players of World of Warcraft should particularly enjoy, as it's full of little nods and winks to the game. There's a wanted poster for Hogger, one of the first "elite" enemies players are likely to run into, and a fan-favorite character. There are also signs for the Darkmoon Faire and Brewfest, seasonal in-game events. Other allusions are more subtle; notice the Denman Family Jewelers sign hanging in the background? If you've got an Alliance character that needs to learn Jewelcrafting, it's Theresa Denman that'll teach you.
The attention to detail is astounding. I think it's clear the people making this film enjoyed their work, and I have no doubt Blizzard fans will spend multiple viewings poring over every frame to catch every reference.
Directed by Duncan Jones and starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, and Ben Schnetzer, Warcraft: The Beginning opens in UK cinemas June 3, 2016 and in the US on June 10, 2016.
