Preacher will spread the word for a whole season

With shooting complete on the show's pilot episode, AMC has now given Preacher the greenlight for a full series order. To celebrate the news, executive producer Seth Rogen gifted his Twitter followers with a glimpse at the first piece of poster art for the series:

Rogen developed the show with long-time collaborator Evan Goldberg and Breaking Bad's Sam Catlin, the latter who will act as showrunner for the ten-episode first season. AMC's programming president, Joel Stillerman, credits the enthusiasm of the producers for the pilot's success. “Garth Ennis’ Preacher is, above all, about great characters," he said in a press release.

“The fact that it is also darkly funny, has some great supernatural elements, and takes us on an incredible adventure is just the icing on the cake," he added. "The incredible creative team behind this show – led by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Sam Catlin and Neal Moritz – made a pilot that completely blew us away, and we know the series will satisfy and surprise fans of the comics, and captivate fans of great TV everywhere.”

The first hour-long episode of Preacher is expected to debut in May 2016.
