Oz prepares for Funeral

He was on megaphone duties for Little Shop Of Horrors, he called the shots on Dirty Rotten Scoundrels but the kid in us can’t forget that Frank Oz was the man behind The Muppets…well, most of ‘em.

Not one to stray far from his comedic roots, Oz has scribbled to direct Death At A Funeral. The story follows a kooky British clan as they come to terms with the death of the family patriarch. When a blackmailer threatens to spill the beans on Daddy’s sordid life, his folks try every trick in the book to preserve his memory in front of the funeral guests.

Oz told The Hollywood Reporter how glad he was to be getting back to basics with a nice little movie. “In the low-budget world, there is more pressure on speed but less pressure on the amount of money, meaning when you don't have enough money, you have to shoot faster,” Oz revealed. “When you do have a lot of money, you don't have to shoot as fast, but the pressure is being responsible for the tremendous amount of money at your disposal.”

Taking orders from Oz will be Pride & Prejudice star Matthew MacFadyen and Match Point’s Ewen Bremner.
