It seems as though anyone and everyone is weighing in with tidbits concerning The Dark Knight Rises , with Gary Oldman the latest cast-member to add his two penneth to the mix.

In a recent interview with Collider the man who plays Jim Gordon had a few interesting things to say about filming in IMAX, which was apparently used more liberally than it was on The Dark Knight .

“[ We used it ] a fair bit actually,” he says of the filming technique. “The IMAX camera, it’s a strange thing. There’s only so much film that you can put through the gate. You get two takes from a roll, I guess.”

“The thing is, it’s very loud. It’s a very noisy piece of equipment and it’s quite cumbersome, it’s quite a large - you don’t hold an IMAX camera, I mean you steadicam it. But of course you have to loop, you have to dub everything you do on the IMAX because you can’t hear the dialogue.”

And as for the finished article, Oldman sounds every bit as excited as your common or garden fanboy. “It’s the last one, the third one in the trilogy,” he says. “It’s a great story. It’s gonna be pretty epic.”

The Dark Knight Rises is released in the UK on 20 July 2012. But then you probably already know that by now…
