E3 2011: If ever a trailer could convince you that Halo 1 needs remastering, it's this

Mr Deep Voiceover Man isn't wrong when he says that the multiplayer maps are some of the finest ever created. And they look sensational with their 360 facelift. The prospect of online play is welcome too - if only to finally appeaseall the fans wholiterally lugged Xboxes and TVs round to each others' houses to play LAN multiplayer. That's dedication - but the experience was good enough to make it worth the effort.

So, HD graphics, remastered levels, special effects and online multiplayer - everythinga remake should have. With the core gameplay still arguably unchanged since the original's release, updating these aspects and leaving the core intact should make it feel like a genuinely modern game. It was ahead of the curve at the time - there's no reason this can't feel relevant and new all over again.

This is coming from a man who doesn'teven like Halo 3. But once more through this trailer? Don't mind if I do...
