Eighties Doctor Who companion Sophie Aldred is set to be celebrated in an exhibition of rare and previously unseen photos.
The negatives of the images have only recently been rediscovered by photographer Steven Cook, who forged an enduring friendship with Aldred - Ace to Sylvester McCoy's Seventh Doctor - while taking publicity shots for the show in the late '80s.
"It’s such a relief to have retrieved these negatives after 22 years," Cook tells SFX. "I thought they’d disappeared down a wormhole or something! We had such fun doing these photos. It was just the three of us: myself, Nina Gan the make-up artist and Sophie in her various guises. They show just how versatile Sophie can be!"
Helping to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who , the exhibition will run at London's Orbital Gallery from 5th - 30th September 2013. Sophie Aldred will be making a personal appearance to sign copies of the prints on Saturday Sept 7th from 12pm - 3pm.
