Ape Escape enters world of PlayStation Move this summer

Longtime PlayStation are waking up to a bit of good news this morning - Sony has just announced a brand new entry in the Ape Escape franchise, coming this summer to the PlayStation Network. Hope you've bought a Move controller...

The aptly titled PlayStation Move Ape Escape issaidto generally play like priorgames in the series, except now with wiggle-waggle motion controls. So now you'll be using the glowing Move controller to locate and capture rogue monkeys through a variety of different environments.

There are 15 levels to be exact, and the method of catching the apes involves using the Move controller as avariety of contraptions. More than 500 monkeys are up for grabs, and players will be able to keep track of them in their "MonkeyPedia." In addition to the main 15 levels of gameplay, PlayStation Move Ape Escape also has multiplayer mini-games such as "Tag Rally," "Slingsnipe!" and "Sprayzer Defense Force."

Ape Escape lovers may recall the PSP sequel Ape Academy 2was canceled for the US, so it's good to see Sony has regained its passion for skinny, flexible monkeys stateside.

Thiswas released in Japanlast December as Ape Escape: On The Move, a retail title. Over here, it will be released as a PlayStation Store download. Pricing details and an official release date have not been revealed.
