The best Amazon Prime Day gaming deals in Australia for 2025: all the best deals on PS5, Nintendo Switch and much more
Amazon Prime Day gaming deals are landing.

Amazon Prime Day has started and that means gaming deals are starting to flood in. I've been covering discounts on everything from the PS5 to Nintendo Switch for over five years now, and I've picked up a thing or two about how these sales run along the way.
Prime Day is looking good if you're after third-party games for PS5 and Nintendo Switch, or if you're after a peripheral. Early signs suggest that first-party gear won't feature heavily in the sales, but Prime Day deals are sometimes staggered. Whatever the case, I'm keeping a close eye on the sale, and am updating this page regularly with all the new featureworthy discounts.
Without further ado:
Amazon Prime | 30-day free trial
You will need an Amazon Prime membership to take part in this year's sale, but the retailer regularly offers free trials to get as many eyes on its site as possible. This 30 day offer will see you all the way through the sale without paying a cent!
PS5 deals
A substantial discount on this still very-new Doom instalment, which doubles down on the series' dark fantasy trappings (mostly at the expense of its sci-fi ones). This is a big, ruthlessly violent first-person shooter with some clever melee combat elements, and at AU$69 delivered, it's one cheap way to stay warm this winter.
This is an all-time low price for this recently released online co-op take on Elden Ring. It's proven divisive, just as an online-centric FromSoft game was always going to be, but Nightreign is definitely worth a spin if you happen to have two friends who are also interested (but for the time being, maybe don't bother if you don't). This price makes it cheaper than everything that is more than AU$44.
A brilliant price for this sprawling modern classic, which stands as probably the only essential RPG for PS5 at this point. This edition doesn't include the brilliant Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, but it still offers hundreds of hours of exploration and tense combat. It's the one PS5 game everyone should own.
A decent discount on this newly released Hazelight affair, which will definitely appeal to anyone who loved the cooperative shenanigans of It Takes Two. As with that older game, you will need a friend to play this - it's not a solo affair - but if you do, it's sizing up to be the best narrative-action game of 2025.
It's been cheaper before, but this first-party gem pretty rarely gets a deep discount, so 19% off is a good, albeit pretty common, discount. It's a big cheerful platformer with an astonishing amount of ideas. If you're a fan of PlayStation history, it's pretty much a must-own, and the same holds true if you love 3D platformers.
Nintendo Switch deals
Not an all time low (it's been down to AU$55) but still a good price on a charming Nintendo RPG, especially since Nintendo first-party games are a little thin on the ground this Prime Day. Originally released for SNES in 1996, this thoroughly revamped version maintains the source material's isometric turn-based gameplay but applies a thick coating of fresh paint. It's an "RPG for everyone", which means that even if you baulk at turn-based JRPGs, you'll probably get something out of this if you're a Mario fan.
Xbox
Good news for Game Pass enthusiasts: Amazon is offering 15% off most tiers, ranging both Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, and taking in both Core and Ultimate access. Here's what Amazon is offering at time of writing:
Xbox Game Pass Core | 1 month | AU$10.95 AU$9.31
Xbox Game Pass Core | 3 months | AU$29.95 AU$25.46
Xbox Game Pass Core | 6 months | AU$49.95 AU$42.46
Xbox Game Pass Core | 12 months | AU$79.95 AU$67.96
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate | 1 month | AU$22.95 AU$19.51
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate | 3 months | AU$68.95 AU$58.61
Xbox PC Game Pass | 3 months | AU$41.95 AU$35.66
We haven't seen too many Xbox Series X deals on the shelves in the last few months. Prime Day gaming deals might not be as kind to the flagship console as it will the cheaper S model, though. Microsoft's price increases have made these consoles particularly difficult to justify in 2025, and savings are few and far between.
That means the majority of this year's Prime Day gaming deals for Xbox players will be focused on that magic Game Pass code. While discounts haven't been too appealing recently, these really are the holy grails of Xbox deals.
Thankfully, there's no shortage of kit. Official controllers are going to be the most interesting sellers here; the cheaper Xbox Wireless Controller, mid-range Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Controller, and premium Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller will likely be the stars of this year's show.
