And that games like Forza Motorsport 2 and Gran Turismo 5 have hundreds of different cars and thousands of different parts to add to said cars, but neither game will have the kind of vehicles or extension of customizable parts that are featured in Borderlands.

360 - Borderlands - T2 Confirms Borderlands, Mafia II for 2009; Midnight Club: Los Angeles This Fall Take-Two Interactive clarified the release dates of several upcoming titles that it will be publishing in a conference call today.

The publisher revealed that Gearbox Software's Borderlands (PC, PS3, X360) and 2K Czech's Mafia II (PC, PS3, X360) is positioned for release sometime in Take-Two's 2009 fiscal year, which runs from November 1, 2008 through October 31, 2009.

360 - Borderlands - Spike TV Awards Announce Presenter, Game Previews Spike TV has announced that, at its upcoming Video Game Awards event, it will unveil previews of upcoming titles including Borderlands (2K), Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (Sony Computer Entertainment America), Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Ubisoft) and TNA Impact (Midway).

The company also announced that the event, now in its fifth year, will be hosted by film star Samuel L. Jackson for his third consecutive year, and will also feature a first look at the new DLC Halo 3 Maps from Microsoft Game Studios.

360 - Borderlands - Borderlands Xbox 360 Will Not Require HDD Gearbox confused about requirements for their own game:

You might remember a little story last week that confirmed with Gearbox President Randy Pitchford that their multi-platform first-person co-op shooter Borderlands would require the hard drive to run on Xbox 360, leaving behind anyone who purchased the Core SKU and didn't want to buy the expensive hard drive accessory. Not long after the story ran, however, Borderlands Lead Programmer Steve Jones announced to Gearbox message boards that Borderlands wouldn't require the hard drive.

Hey everyone, my name is Steve Jones and I'm the lead programmer on Borderlands. While we are doing some amazing things in this game, the Xbox 360 version will NOT require a hard drive. The game will take full advantage of the hard drive if it is present, but again, it will not be required.

360 - Borderlands - GC 2007: Borderlands to Require Hard Drive on 360 Following a demo presentation at Games Convention in Germany today, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford confirmed to 1UP that Borderlands -- his upcoming "Indiana Jones meets Mad Max" sci-fi four-player co-op first-person shooter -- will require a hard drive if players choose to play it on Xbox 360.

Because of the way the game procedurally generates everything from weapons to armor, Borderlands has different requirements from typical first-person shooters. "If it weren't for where the 360 and the PS3 have gone, with big hard drives, and lots of memory, and powerful processors, there's no way you can conceive of this as a console game," Pitchford said.

360 - Borderlands - 2K's Leipzig Lineup 2K Games and 2K Sports have just revealed their lineup for the show, and according to Kotaku, the Games folks definitely have the edge here. They'll be showing the intriguing new shooter from Gearbox, Borderlands, as well as Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, the first Civ game created solely for consoles and handhelds. The Sports team will be showing off Top Spin 3, NBA 2K8 and NHL 2k8. Their press release also indicates that "two new and unannounced games from established and popular brands" will be revealed for the very first time at the show, so keep your browser tuned to Kotaku for details as soon as we get them! The latest issue of Game Informer, the magazine that doesn't bother printing unless it has a world exclusive on the cover, has revealed the latest shooter from Gearbox Software, Borderlands. The game's described as a "sci-fi RPG/shooter" and has more than a passing resemblance to id Software's Rage.
