The folks at Gearbox Software today declared their new game Borderlands the "fastest-selling original property video game launch of 2009." The Xbox 360 version sold through 418,000 units, placing it third on the all-SKU NPD top 10 chart for October. "In spite of launching towards the end of the month and competing against the first full month of sales of the latest Halo sequel [ODST], Borderlands dominated the Xbox 360 for October taking the #1 best seller position for the platform," the company stated.
Sumthing Else Music Works, through its licensing relationship with Gearbox Software, LLC, has announced the Borderlands Original Soundtrack featuring the original musical score from the highly acclaimed videogame Borderlands. Developed by Gearbox Software, Borderlands delivers one of this year's most explosive and entertaining Role-Playing Games (RPGs) by combining the most addictive gaming elements found in First-Person Shooters (FPS) with the deep character development of RPGs. The album includes music from the game composed by Jesper Kyd, Sascha Dikiciyan, Cris Velasco and Raison Varner as well as bonus music tracks by these artists and Tim Larkin.

Gearbox have said that a demo was planned for their critically acclaimed shooter Borderlands. The thing is, it was an eight hour long demo.
VG247: Mike Neumann, Gearbox creative director, has given a clear indication that we haven't seen the back of Borderlands yet.

Exclusive Games such as Uncharted 2, Forza 3 are currently enjoying great success in all regions. But what had caught my attention when I saw the latest worldwide sales figures from VGchartz.com is the poor sales of the PS3 version of Borderlands.
