If you’re anything like me then you’re desperate for any scraps of Star Wars: Rogue One info. Well, you’re in luck: one of the movie’s new planets – Jedha – has been detailed in a Star Wars atlas of all places. Mild spoilers follow.
Star Wars News Net has picked up on details found in a trailer (shown below) released by the publishing house Egmont Publishing. Star Wars details are always well-guarded (just ask Mark Hamill) so the Star Wars: Galactic Atlas, which is out now in the UK and December 20 in the US, has committed a big no-no by giving us a glimpse of what’s to come in the Star Wars spin-off.
Jedha is confirmed to be a small desert moon and the atlas reveals it is home to the Temple of the Whills in the Holy City. The Temple’s huge structure has been seen in previous trailers but this is the first time it’s been officially named.
It’s going to be really cool to see the Holy City brought to life on-screen. I mean, holy hell (no pun intended), it’s perched on top of a crater. Imagine the real estate prices.
Jedha’s description also confirms a clue relating to a previous trailer: it’s home to kyber crystals. These lightsaber-making stones hold a lot of power. I’m talking Death Star-levels of power if you can get your hands on enough of them. Jedha looks like it will play a huge part in Rogue One’s story.
There’s also a brief look at rebel Saw Gerrera (played Forest Whittaker) and, in case you didn’t think he could look any more badass, he lives underneath a secret ruin that used to be filled with ‘skeletal remains’. Because of course he does.
