Wet 2 and Naughty Bear 2 confirmed

Get ready for more bad bears and “sexy” bullet time. Recently rebranded developer, Behaviour Interactive has just confirmed that the studio is at work on Wet 2 and Naughty Bear 2. Speaking to Joystiq, Behaviour Interactive CEO Remi Racine confirmed that work has begun on both titles, but did not reveal any details about publishers or release dates.

“We’re working on Wet 2 right now and Naughty Bear 2,” said Racine. When asked if the team began work on Wet 2 immediately after the original, Racine said, “The team is still at it, but that’s all I can say.”

Above: Behaviour Interactive, which was previously known as Artificial Mind and Movement (aka A2M), is currently working on Wet 2 and Naughty Bear 2

Wet had a pretty cool debut trailer and looked promising when we first saw it in 2007 before the game finally launched in September 2009. Plus, Wet's visual style kind of reminded us of Kill Bill, which is never a bad thing. Unfortunately, most critics found the game to be just so-so, earning it an average score of 70/100 on Metacritic and a 6/10 on GamesRadar.  Let's that Wet 2 is more on target when the ultraviolent, bullet timey shootouts resume.

Is a sequel to either of these games even remotely necessary?

WET had a very cool style but that style was there to clean up the flaws...still, i hope they are able to fix everything wrong with the first and come back strong.

@Umop3pisdn If you think about it, games like Star Fox are aces in the whole for companies like nintendo. If they ever wanted to bring them back, they could. While I agree with what you have to say, I also respect companies trying to make a name for their games, or at least, rehashing to make a better name. If Nintendo wanted to make MORE money, they could whip out a sequel in a heart beat, but for those companies who are struggling to stay afloat, I applaud them for being ballsy and trying to do something new/better.

And just what other games or game franchises by these developers would be neglected a sequel if these games get sequels? A lot of people seem to be whining over nothing...

Funny how both wet and Naughty Bear are the on the lowest spectrum of unoriginal shit and get sequels but we are still waiting for Chrono Break, Rogue Galaxy 2, New F-Zero, New Star Fox, Psychonauts, Bully I could go on and on.

Naughty Bear 2 deserves a chance- let's hope it isn't shit.

@Syncmaster was that pun intended? Isn't Beyond Good & Evil getting a sequel? Wet and Naughty Bear, both were good ideas, I think...just poorly executed.
  • Syncmaster - November 9, 2010 1:06 a.m.

meanwhile, sequels to games like psychonauts, Beyond good & evil and brutal legend are being axed

"Let's that Wet 2 is more on target when the ultraviolent..." hope*?

funny cause I was watching an interview with Pach today and he said game companies nowdays cant invest on games that didnt sell well. and look at this, two games with very poor sales and even worse gameplay getting sequels... and they dont even have a big name like star wars to support

A lot of people thought Dead Rising was a hit or miss game, then the sequel comes out and BOOM! Now people are loving it... so why can't the same thing happen for Naughty Bear or Wet?

Im not falling for naughty bear again >_>

I enjoyed playing Wet. I thought it was a fun game. It felt like playing a Tarantino Movie.
  • TheWebSwinger - November 9, 2010 12:16 a.m.

Wet 1 was crap....basically a mediocre Vanquish with some rough Tarantino inspiration. and like TWO songs on the soundtrack, swear to god.
  • Corsair89 - November 9, 2010 12:09 a.m.

Two mediocre games get sequels that no one asked for. Just wonderful...

@Darth_Griffin: They both had potential. Look at Naughty Bear - Manhunt with teddies. Should have been awesome. Poor implementation = meh. Wet - Kill Bill but playable. Let down by poor controls. Solution - same idea, different angle. OT: Hoping Naughty Bear gets the kick up the stuffed tail he deserves to get a proper game, with more than 7 soundclips and not just the 12 samey weapons (numbers may not be accurate). It was a rental at best last time... Come on! So much wasted potential!

Didn't Naughty Bear get a horrible review... they better work on fixing those problems that GR pointed out in the review (because I thought the game would be pretty good, the gameplay intrigues me).
  • Shake - November 8, 2010 11:30 p.m.

Yay! Sequels to two shitty games! I can't wait to not play them.
  • juicenpancakes - November 8, 2010 11:28 p.m.

I can't imagine that Bethesda would publish Wet 2. They seemed to swing and miss with Wet and Rogue Warrior.
  • corndog501 - November 8, 2010 11:22 p.m.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with Wet 2 since I liked the visual style. However Naughty Bear was a bad idea to begin with and I don't see how they can justify making a second one. The first didn't sell well (hardly at all) and it got mediocre reviews at best.
