Vita Mega Pack: 10 games and a memory card for £35

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced the Vita 'Mega Pack', a software offering of ten digital titles and an 8GB memory card. Available from June 21 and priced at £34.99 / €39.99, it includes first-party games such as LittleBigPlanet Vita, WipeOut 2048 and MotorStorm RC.

The Mega Pack will also be bundled with a Wi-Fi Vita for £229.99 / €249.99 in select European countries. It’s out now in France, Spain, Portugal and Israel, due to launch in Austria, Switzerland and Germany on June 26, and will arrive in the UK on June 28. The Vita Mega pack hasn’t been confirmed for release outside of Europe.

Mega Pack games:

  • LittleBigPlanet PS Vita
  • WipeOut 2048
  • MotorStorm RC
  • Little Deviants
  • Frobisher Says! (with Fun Pack DLC)
  • Ecolibrium (with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum game packs)
  • Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters
  • Lemmings
  • Hungry Giraffe
  • The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character

While Sony Japan announced an official Vita price cut in February, one year after the system launched, in a bid to boost sales of the underperforming handheld, the company’s European and US arms have resisted following suit, instead opting for limited-time offers and promotions. If you haven’t already done so, would the Mega Pack tempt you to pick up a Vita?

Sony did the Vita a disservice by not establishing some strong 1st party franchises on the PSP. Franchises that could easily continue on the Vita and move hardware. There were great games...but not system selling franchises exclusive to the handheld. Obviously they couldn't rely on Monster Hunter to stay a Sony exclusive. Rockstar could make some GTA games for Vita, but why do that when they can do quick ports to iOS and make 10 times the money? I love the idea of the Vita as an indie game haven but that won't save the system. Especially not in Japan, which is where handheld consoles do the most business. Say what you will about Nintendo and their mistakes in the home market...they have done an amazing job creating franchises that sell handhelds. I want the Vita to succeed alongside the 3DS to help stem the inevitable tide of smart phones eliminating the dedicated handheld gaming market.

This + playstation plus offer serious value, especially for PS3 owners who aren't already PS+ subs. this might actually make me hop the wagon (despite playibg ~98% of my games on pc). wait, out now in israel, you say? no such mention on (last news update is from nov 12 2012) or any VG/electonics store (who'd be happy to offer you a chipped Wii/360/3DS instead). still, sooner or later this combo will become available here. for ₪1,800 (€374.99) I assume. but hey, vgames cost even more in brazil, so i should be grateful. right?

Heck. Even if this was sold in the US. No one would by the vita. I work at gamestop and everytime I work no one has bought a vita since the holidays.

Whoa, just by bundling both WipeOut 2048 and LBPV this deal's already an overkill, but it's still disappointing that storage for the Vita is so damn expensive.

No this would not make me want to buy a Vita, half of these games are just psp games that are playable on the vita, if it wasn't for the memory card you basically get for free with this pile of mediocre games, I would say that this is a sad attempt on Sony's otherwise cheery E3 After party
