Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Laura Dern won't tell anyone - not even her kids - who she's playing

Oscar nominee (and Jurassic Park alum) Laura Dern is in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This we know. What we don't know is who she's playing. But at least we don't have to be alone in our ignorance - it turns out Dern won't tell anyone, even her own children, her role in the upcoming film.

"It’s hard in our own house. 'Mom, you can at least tell us who you play,'" Dern recently told Yahoo News. She said she doesn't want to stress her kids out by making them swear to silence and keep a plot point secret from their friends. "I’d never put them in that position," she said.

Ah, but there's the rub. By saying she doesn't want to put pressure on her kids, I feel like Dern is implying her role is large enough to warrant extreme caution. After all, we knew about characters like Snoke and Maz Kanata long before The Force Awakens opened in theaters. So why be this careful about spoilers unless it's something big? Rey's mother, perhaps?

Unless, of course, that's just what Dern and Disney want us to think… *creates conspiracy theory corkboard with red strings tying photos together*
