Hello! You need to have full "Stylishness" if you just buy 100 premier balls it'll be okay :)

So I just managed to catch Zygarde and Mewtwo with pokeballs. Does anyone know if the catch rate for them was nerfed or was the formula changed? I understand luck but catching two end game legendaries with a pokeball all under a five throws each? That seems absurd.

Anyone nicknaming their Fennekin Mozilla? Missed opportunity if not.

Hawlucha looks just like songbird from bioshock!

Not gonna look at the full dex yet 'cos that's one of the only things I've been able to avoid spoilers with, but I played for just over an hour this morning and besides my starter, my team doesn't even have any 6th gen Pokémon, pffft. Bizarrely, I'm using a Pansear...hated those monkeys in BW but seeing them in 3D actually makes them slightly endearing, lawls. Also I literally squeed when I found a Dunsparce. Kinda hard for me to care about any of the new guys yet when you feel like you're "rediscovering" the old ones, hehehe. I even smiled when I found a Bidoof! Didn't realise they'd chuck that many old Pokémon in from the start. I knew there'd be Pikachu in Santalune Forest because it's pretty much a flipping carbon copy of Viridian Forest. Not even joking. But it's a cool nod!

I'm really liking Tyrunt, Pancham, and Mega Lucario so far. Fingers crossed for a Mega Dragonite though!

Based on these new releases, my team will consist of: Absol/Mega Absol, Venasaur/Charizard Fennekin/Froakie Noivern Malamar Amaura So far I'm hoping that Amaura either evolves into a water type or is able to learn surf. I suppose that Malamar could learn surf. What really could change my line up is if Fennekin's last form becomes a fighting, or it ends up looking ridiculous. If I do end up using Froakie then Charizard will be the way to go, otherwise venasaur sounds a nice choice.

X and Y teams are going to look so hardcore.

i hear the starters based on the rpg archtypes. fennikin's line mage, chespin's line knight, and froakie's line theif. from that i could guess their final forms could have psychic/fairy(still having trouble telling difference) steel and dark secondary types respectively i also a little bothered with electric type's new immunity to paralysis and steel loosing resistances overall not bad but takes the point out of honedge's typing being cool
  • JarkayColt - September 13, 2013 2:56 p.m.

I still think like most other people that the Fennekin line will more than likely be Fire/Psychic, but I agree with the other two. Grass/Steel and Water/Dark would make a lot of sense. Also I don't like the Electric type's paralysis immunity either. It takes the edge off of moves like Bounce, Body Slam, Glare, Lick, Force Palm etc that don't have anything to do with electricity (it makes no sense for Electric types to resist those.) I do like that Steel lost resistances though because it just had way too many. It still takes 1/2 damage from over half of the types and is immune to Poison. Being hit neutrally by Dark and Ghost means it's a lot easier to deal with the likes of Metagross and Bronzong, which IMO didn't have enough exploitable weaknesses (especially because Bronzong usually has Levitate).

fennekin's glow punch and that stick could throw a curvball troll and make it into another fire fighting with a staff when i first heard of steel loosing it's resistances, i was like "yes! take that you ultra annoying metagross" but then i remembered honedge and ..... felt sorry for its timing
  • JarkayColt - September 13, 2013 3:30 p.m.

I dunno, the stick's more like a wand/stave to me which suggests it will be an "indirect" thing. The general consensus is that Glow Punch will be a Fairy or Psychic type move in the same vein as Fire Punch/ThunderPunch/Ice Punch/Shadow Punch/Mega Punch; just because it's a punch doesn't mean it's Fighting. However I had pegged Fennekin as more of a "special" attacker and all the Punch attacks are Physical thus far. If its final evolution IS Fire/Fighting then it really would go beyond "running gag" status and into "are you serious?" territory. Honedge would have 4 weaknesses right? Dark, Ghost, Ground and Fire. Yeah. That does sound kind of bad now that you mention it. Still, Metagross would have 4 as well, and to be fair it does counter balance the absurd number of resistances they still have compared to most other types.
  • BladedFalcon - September 13, 2013 3:49 p.m.

Even with 4 weaknesses, I'm still very looking forward to what honedge can do. 'Sides, both steel and ghost have benefited with this gen's retcon of types, offensively speaking as well. And i honestly don't mind that Steel has lost resistance to ghost and dark, it always felt like bullshit that it was able to resist those types to begin with, really.
  • C.King - September 13, 2013 4:48 p.m.

i'm disappointed they didn't give ice a defensive boost with all these balance changes. it sorta like the 1st balance issue with psychic but bug moves are too weak. dragons ruling but ice can't take a hit. so they introduce fairy and ignore ice in that issue. i wonder if electric gonna be ruling the game now? only 1 weakness and no paralysis. and those new moves parabolic charge(which i look forward to teaching my beloved luxray) and nuzzle which is a weaker more accurate zap cannon i guessing
  • BladedFalcon - September 13, 2013 5:01 p.m.

Yeah... Ice's defensive capabilities are worthless, making it the main reason why I never really use any Ice types. which is a shame because I love ice moves, but alas, those are almost always relegated to water Pokemon. And well, the thing with electric types is that they are completely useless against ground, and well, they are only effective against two types. I do think they are awesome, but I've never felt like they are overpowered. Specially if you always keep a ground type in your party (Which I do!)
  • C.King - September 13, 2013 5:46 p.m.

yea you're right ground type hits hard and the electric types will need to set up before hand to effectively counter em since the ones with the more varied move pools are lacking in speed a little.
  • BladedFalcon - September 13, 2013 11:19 a.m.

...Meowstick? Really? that's the English name they went with *facepalms* I'm not a huge fan of the new revealed pokemon, except Tyrunt, he looks kinda cool, we'll see how his evolution turns out though. I had the same hopes for Litleo, but Pyroar let me down.
