PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale adds an old man and a cat

Heihachi from Tekken and Toro the Sony mascot join the All-Star ranks

Add plus-2 to the PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale roster! Heihachi Mishima of Tekken fame has been revealed, alongside Toro Inoue, a cartoonish feline mascot that should be more familiar to Sony’s Japanese fans and was last seen in Street Fighter X Tekken.

Is this an early arrival of the roster announcement Sony was planning for Comic Con? Or will it be announcing yet another pair of fighters for its mascot brawler this Sunday? We’ll continue to update the PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale roster up until the game’s October 23 release date.

ONE idea. ONE. Ideally, I'd prefer that they didn't steal this idea but a SSB with Sony characters sounds pretty cool and fun, and they could introduce something new to the formula, so I'm willing to let this one slide. Besides, shouldn't judge a game before it's released.

People apparently dont think Sony has their own characters, they do, just like Nintendo, the majority are overshadowed by the popular ones. Jack was already leaked, Ratchet should be next soon, and with Sony bringing back Toro in Street Fighter X Tekken, its a given he was coming here, there are still some Sony can pull if they tried. Parrapa made me happy as hell seeing him reborn, and Dat Stage with Killzone XD People need to stop saying Crash and Spyro, Spyro's a 3rd Party character and Naughty dog dont exactly fully own Crash anymore, but hey, miracles can happen.

Willing to put money on that, it looks better than every kinect and every wii carnival game made, and did nintendo or Microsoft go out of business? So im taking all bets that sony (a fifty year old company) will go out of "buzines".

I really want Jak & Daxter to be in this. Also finished Heavenly Sword today and it'd be really, really awesome if Nariko got into this game. Others: Kazama Kiryu, Amaterasu, Rachet & Clank, Sora, Final Fantasy characters, Persona characters(fat chance), Snake, Cole McGrath, Valkyria Chronicles characters, Wild ARMs(super duper fat chance, also preferably from the 1st ARMs) characters, HD collections characters(Like Tomb Raider, PoP, Ico & Sotc), Monster Hunter characters, Rayman, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot(pleeeeeeeeease), Legacy of Kain characters(Raziel or Kain), Klonoa, Raz from Psychonauts, SolairePRAISETHESUN:D(mega stinky fat chance), the Journey guy(?), Gitaroo Man, some dude from Resistance, dude with the special glasses from Heavy Rain, Mega Man X, someone from Dark Cloud, an Onimusha character, the dude from SMT: Nocturne, a 3D Dot Game Hero, the dude from StarHawk, Sackboy...... .....And it's gone past midnight and I can't think anymore(goes back to watch EVO) but, the less characters from other fighting games appear the better(alright maybe include Jin, but stop there.). It's a pretty obvious point, but uhh, they have their own fighting games. The only exceptions would be characters from old fighting games, like Power Stone or something.

Oh Christ, please tell me you haven't played JOURNEY and are posting that suggestion in complete ignorance of its ethos and gameplay? Actually wait, I think it's much worse if you have. You've obviously missed the point somewhere along the way. In a nutshell; JOURNEY's characters aren't built for combat and were never meant to be. Stupid idea.

Just stop Sony. You probably have about 10 different franchises of your own, leading to you using even the bad guys from your series like the chimera and the Hellghast. Yes they are badass but you're just trying too hard. And now your picking things that aren't even in your franchise. You know why Microsoft won't make an "all stars" themselves? Because it won't have enough characters and they'll just have to grab anything they can get their hands on. You know why Nintendo's was so popular? Because they have a wide array of characters all unique varying to cute and badass. Whats next? Are you going to take that character from Journey and put them in here?

sony dont have any of their own characters or mascots except kratos and maybe a ferrari or some thing from GT. i just thought of little big planet but what is there to say about its characters? they are literally sacks.

You clearly don't have a Playstation an have never heard of Jack and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Uncharted, Killzone, Resistence, Infamous, Crash Bandicoot, Ape Escape. Ico, Shadow of the Colossus... I could go on. And Master Chief or Marcus Fenix are really no more interesting than Sackboy.

I think the writer of this article needed to watch the livestream and pay more attention. It was confirmed and said blatantly at least a few times that 2 more characters are getting revealed at Comic Con.

To me, the ultimate Sony game should have: Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Tomba, Ratchet, Captain Quark, Jak, Daxter, Lara Croft, Kratos, Solid Snake, Raiden, Heihahchi Mishima, Jack 1, Sly Cooper, Murray, Gex, one of the Ape Escape kids, Cloud, Squall, Sweet Tooth, Gabe Logan, Nathan Drake, Killzone Enemy Soldier, Cole, Specter Monkey, Tiny, Dark Cloud 1 main character, Rise/Mark of Kai characters, Beyond Good and Evil characters, Sam Fisher, Ryu, Akuma, Kyo, Iori, Yoshimitsu, Nightmare, and finally, Polygon Head Man (as the final boss).

They can't accomplish all of that. For each multiplatform character they put into the game they have to haggle with the developers of that creator. For example, I very well beleive that they have to pay some kind of royalty to 2k for using the big daddy.

2k probably wanted to get the franchise out there before their new bioshock game came out. But the other multiplatform games (even if they wanted to) would get shit from Microsoft and nintendo. I dont know how nintendo got snake, but that means we probably wont be seeing him (sadly)
