Nintendo E3 2017: Super Mario Odyssey hands-on, Splatoon 2 tournaments, and more

Nintendo has announced its plans for E3 2017 and it has quite the full dance card. The company plans to kick things off with its usual livestreamed non-press-conference and roll into days full of live preview sessions on the showfloor and big tournaments for Splatoon 2 and Arms. Here's what we're looking at.

Nintendo Spotlight E3 2017 video presentation

Nintendo's big digital event will begin at 9 am PDT / 5 pm BST on Tuesday, June 13. The livestreamed presentation will include new details about Super Mario Odyssey and other Nintendo Switch games launching throughout 2017. I bet Nintendo will sneak some announcements for further-out titles in there as well, but it sounds like this presentation will be largely focused on the near future of Switch.

Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3

Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3

The spotlight event will transition directly into Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3, a three-day livestream presentation with segments on upcoming Switch games as well as Nintendo 3DS titles. Tune in to see live gameplay sessions, panel discussions with developers, and other Nintendo affairs.

Super Mario Odyssey playable on the show floor

If you're planning to go to E3 proper (it's officially open to the public for the first time this year) then you'll be able to go hands-on with Super Mario Odyssey for the first time ever. It'll probably be pretty popular, so make sure you're lined up as soon as the show floor opens at noon on June 13 if you want to get a spot.

Splatoon 2 Invitational Tournament

See high-level Splatoon squads from around the world face off in the next generation of inkling combat. The tournament will begin on June 13 at an unspecified location.

Arms Open Tournament

The Arms Open Invitational will follow on June 14. Arms will come out just two days later on June 16 so this tournament should be a nice preview of its competitive prospects.
