The Cabin In The Woods
has released a new trailer, in which Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard cram as many horror movie clichés into a minute as possible, while simultaneously hinting that all is not what it seems.
This new trailer makes the movie’s real antagonists a little more explicit, showing a command centre full of observers who appear to be controlling events within the titular cabin.

Producer Joss Whedon told us the film is “basically a very loving hate letter,” as he lines up a bunch of archetypal horror tropes to be skewered by his expectation-subverting plot twists.
That creepy local, isolated lakeside cabin, unusual mirror and conventionally beautiful crop of youngsters... all deliberately clichéd box-tickers. However, as the trailer points out, "You think you know the story... you think you know the place... think again."
We’re still none the wiser as to who the cabin’s observers are, or what exactly they want from Chris Hemsworth and friends, but from the look of the latest footage, it’s going to be a lot of fun finding out.
The Cabin In The Woods opens in the UK on 13 April 2012.
