Since Bayonetta 2 was announced last year, fans of the angel-killing witch have been waiting for any new info on the game outside of the brief teaser that was shown. Those devotees finally got some new info during today's Nintendo Direct in this new video for the game. We also grabbed screenshots of the most telling portions of the trailer and posted them in the gallery above..

The game still looks early, but at least this shows the team at Platinum is making progress with the anticipated title. Not much more was revealed for the game, but Platinum fans can take some solace in the newest trailer for the dev's other Wii U game, The Wonderful 101. Planned for release sometime in the next 6 months, here's the trailer...

Damnit, I'm still holding out hope that, since it doesn't look like we'll ever end up getting a Wii U, that Bayonetta 2'll get itself a nice 360/PS3 port at some point, although I highly doubt it :c

Over the last day my interest in the wii u has gone from "meh" to "I GODDAMN NEED ONE!" and these two games will most certainly find a nice home in my future wii u.

Man... these two are right now the main things that would make me even consider getting a Wii U, The wonderful 101 looks really amazing... Not yet though, we'll see.

Platinum: Sorry, still no Bayonetta 2 gameplay but see were still working on it, promise!

Well I mean.... based on the images, it's in VERY early development still. I imagine the engine itself is still getting heavy tweaks and changes.

Wonderful 101 looks like it's going to be amazing. It looks like a fusion of Pikmin and something else that I can't put my finger on... Viewtiful Joe? I want to play as that fat green kid.

Honestly, Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 are almost reason enough for me to buy a WiiU. Throw in an eventual Pokemon game or a really great *true* iteration of Mario and I'm sold. As much as I like to poke fun at the WiiU, after hearing about Sony and MS's plans I might just be eating my words.

I have no idea what's going on in the trailer for The Wonderful 101, but I know that I must play it.

I enjoyed everything about Bayonetta except for Bayonetta herself. It would be cool if the new game had as many references to Nintendo's history as the first one did to Sega's.

See I was very surprised by Bayonetta's character and how much I came to like her as the game went on. The story still makes no goddamn sense but I still watched the cutscenes for the badass moments and for the characters.
