New Battlefield 3 gameplay trailer takes the fight to the roofs

The first Battlefield 3 gameplay trailer follows a group of soldiers into a ground battle, and ends with, of course, a big explo-BVVZZZGHH. Right, and the second, released today, takes things to the rooftops for a full look at the sniper hunting scene we glimpsed in the first teaser - naturally, it also ends wi-BVVZZZGH. Check it-BVVVVZZZGHT...

Lovely, isn't it? Shallow as it may seem, I'm still in awe of the way BF 3 looks. 'Just another war shooter' or not, you've got to admit there's something special about it. It doesn't just look good (lots of games look good), the character animations (which use FIFA's animation engine, apparently) and terrain destruction give it a natural feel, which really-BVVVZZGHHHHHT.

EA is really trying to showcase the singleplayer on this one. I hope they don't decide to focus more on singleplayer more so they can show off the new Frostbite engine. Multiplayer is where it's at and where it's always going to be for Battlefield.

I'm happy to see "prone" gameplay. I love it when you can lay down in games. Especially when your playing online! It's a great way to use stealth, and take cover : ) I really like how the Call of Duty games have it in them, and in a way, it's a "unique" feature. Imagine if in Halo Reach you could go prone, or maybe even Red Dead Redemption? Just a little thought : ) Great news feature Tyler!

They could have made that so much more dramatic, made the sniper actually clip a teammates leg-BVVZZZGHHT. The Sniper kept shooting few metres ahead of where they stopped all the time. Still going to be the greatest game this year, i can't wait for this. Only way it could be more perfect is if they had bots on the multiplayer too -BVVZZZGHHHHTTT

I hope that this is evidence that someone has realised that pacing is important in war games too. rather than black ops' 8 hours of explosions that I got bored of after half an hour. These moments make the gunfights seem more risky and a legitemate threat as opposed to spray spray spray spray spray take cover more spraying yawn.

(Reaction to trailer) Soldier: "Dude, that's a F#%$in' 50"! Me: "Damn, it's F#@%in' rated M!". Speaking of which, that sniper should have F#&$in' moved.:P
