Thirty-eight years, two sequels, one TV movie and a 2006 remake later, we finally have confirmation of the Omen re-remake we didn’t know we were waiting for. FOX and Platinum Dunes will be working together to bring Damien Thorn back to the silver screen. Meanwhile the Anti-Christ is also returning to the small screen: The Walking Dead ’s Glen Mazzara is continuing to work on his Omen television follow-up.

Andy Serkis, motion-capture specialist extraordinaire, has officially been given a role in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron . Start the bets now: will we be seeing Serkis battling it out in Tony Stark’s Hulk Buster armour, or will Marvel dare to introduce yet another new addition to the already bustling Avengers line-up? In other Avengers news Mark Ruffalo has confirmed that the team will be taking a break from fighting crime to pay a visit to San Diego Comic Con this year.

The first trailer for Luke Evans’ vampire epic Dracula Untold has been released and it doesn’t look too shabby either. Could this mean the legacy of the Twilight saga has finally been laid to rest? Can vampires go back to being scary again now?

The second season of everyone’s favourite puppet-fantasy Yonderland will begin filming this autumn, according to Sky 1. The new series will see part-time hero and full-time mum Debbie Maddox balance home life with her duties as saviour of the world.

The Gollancz Festival will bring together sci-fi and fantasy with multi-media in an event celebrating their array of talented authors on Wednesday 13 th August. Fans will have the chance to attend panels, readings, signings and Q&As from 6pm, as well as an array of daytime events. Go here for details.
