Mirror's Edge reboot coming… when it's ready

Yes, we know you don't believe it. But it's true. After years of waiting, DICE has revealed the next entry in the Mirror's Edge series. It doesn't have a name, or a release date, or... anything really, but it does have some footage to help build up your expectations, rendered entirely in-engine on the game's next-gen engine.

Though we first thought it would be a prequel, it appears that DICE is opting to totally reboot the franchise--Faith is getting the tattoos she had in the original and looks noticeably younger. "Gamers and critics worldwide praised its unique characters, highly stylized world and fresh take on first person action adventure. The new Mirror’s Edge reboots the franchise for the next generation with advanced visuals and an all-new origin story for Faith."

Woo!!! A new Mirror's Edge game! :D Too bad they have to reboot it...pretty sure they just want to start afresh and forget about the first game in a sense...

YES! The first one is easily one of my favorite games ever made and I have been hoping against hope that it would get a shot at the financial success it so deserves

While I think a reboot is completely unnecessary, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to this.

This and that Battlefield 4 footage is SO DAMN SEXY... Most of EA's other stuff was SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS. I get that sports games are fun, but they literally said nothing about sports games that I haven't already heard. WHY IS DRIBBLING SO IMPORTANT? ..... Seriously?

Was i the only one slightly worried that they mainly showed her fighting and didnt focus on the freerunning/parkour aspect of the game? I want this to be amazing, so please ea focus on the freerunning and less on the fighting

YES THEY KEPT THE COLORS, UNLIKE DEAD RISING 3 As much as im excited, i didnt like the fact that the trailer itself was all combat, i hope this doesnt mean the entire game will be that but the end where she's hanging showing the open world destroys my worries

Super excited. Loved the first one, let's hope this one is a bit longer and has more open areas. The constant sewer/hallway running in the first tired me out.

Well, it looked nice. Still haven't played the first one, but hey, if this one delivers, and it's multiplatform, that might just be the push I need.
  • n00b - June 10, 2013 2:17 p.m.

Yes! This is the only current gen first person game that I ever liked playing. I'm excited for this.
