Michael Jackson game experiences 2 million copies sold

It turns out a lot of people out there have an inner Michael Jackson that's just dying to be released. Sales for the dancing game were off the charts this holiday season. According to publisher Ubisoft, Michael Jackson: The Experience has already sold over two million copies. And that's even more impressive considering that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions haven't even been released yet.

But the limited audience of Wii, PSP, or DS users in the US didn't stop the game from becoming a huge success, and Ubisoft is already planning new downloadable songs for it. Blood on the Dance Floor and I Just Can't Stop Loving You are coming to the Wii version soon. The Wii, incidentally, represents about 90% of all sales of the game.

If you've got Michael fever but prefer to wait for the high-def versions of the ultimate dancing game, it comes out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 12. It hits Europe on April 14.

Michael Jackson is also due to star in his own massively multiplayer online game later this year. So, there's plenty of opportunity for the spirit of the king of pop to live on, and what better medium than video games?

The article refers to 360 and PS3 versions that have yet to release.

The Wii, PSP and DS games have been out since late Nov/early Dec in the UK. I've sold tons in the GAME I work in! I have no idea where the idea that the game is only out in the US had come from.
