Nintendo's not leaving the Wii to the depredations of third-parties just yet, with the upcoming Mario Party 9 reminding players that Mario still loves them (at least until they upgrade to a Wii U). Set for a March release, the game's central feature is the new Party Adventure mode, whose vehicular board-traversing is previewed in this batch of new shots.

The Party Adventure portion of the game ties together some 80 minigames, ranging from pizza construction (because Mario is Italian-American, see) to ghost-evasion (because King Boo is Supernatural-American, maybe). Minigames will be accessible independently or from the Party Adventure game board, and included with boss battles to mix co-op with competitive points-grabbing. Mario Party 9's due to release March 2 in Europe, with a US release following on the 11th.

It better be good or the series is most likely done sadly. Maybe they could try a 3DS port.

Mario Party 8 was sorely disappointing considering the potential, but I'll probably give it another chance just to see what this new mode is about. That, and the sixth screenshot looks like a minigame based around proper Mario platforming, so that gives me some hope as to the quality of the minigames.

I half agree and half Disagree, I literally LOVED 8 because it went back to using user effecting Items(Candy, LOL) after the boring Orb Mechanic and that every single board has their own unique way of Collecting Star's, what with Kind Boo's Hide N seek, Koopa's Monopoly, Shy guy's Fatass Train and so on. Atleast back then, and a bit now, I still enjoy it, If Better Motion games are coming, and all the unique things 9 will bring, Including the hugest amound of time between Mario Parties(Beginng - End of wii) MP9 will probably Deliver.

Ya, I missed out on the N64 ones and the early gamecube ones so I'm actually quite excited for some MP action.

Considering its been pretty long since MP8 in the beginning of the Wii till now in the end of the wii, i cant wait, that adventure optional mode looks interesting, reminising of Mario Party Advances Car.
