Killzone 3 collector's edition includes Helghast helmet, action figure, oodles of extras

PlayStation Blog has announced and revealed the contents of the $129.99 Killzone 3 "Helghast Edition." The special collector's edition most notably includes an "authentic Helghast helmet replica" which opens to reveal the game, an art book, and a download voucher. The package also comes with an exclusive 6.5" Cloaking Helghast Marksman action figure. The full list of goodies is below:

  • Authentic Helghast Helmet replica opens to reveal art book, Super Voucher and Killzone 3 game.
  • Exclusive Cloaking Helghast Marksman action figure is 6.5” tall with multiple articulation points and will not be sold at retail.
  • Includes bonus video content giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the game.
  • Exclusive art book featuring imagery from the Killzone universe.
  • The Super Voucher includes:
    • Killzone 3 soundtrack and PS3 Dynamic Theme.
    • Retro Map Pack featuring two of the most popular multiplayer maps from Killzone 2.
    • Double XP for the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay.
    • Full access to all weapons and abilities during the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay.

The download packs included in the "Super Voucher" are also available separately, if you pre-order Killzone 3 from one of three retailers. Each retailer offers a different bonus:

GameStop - Guerrilla Pack

  • Unlock all multiplayer weapons and abilities for the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay.
  • Retro Map Pack download code.

Best Buy - Fast Starter Pack

  • Double XP for the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay.
  • Retro Map Pack download code.

Amazon - Unlock and Load Pack

  • Instant access to 3 Unlock Points to use on the multiplayer weapon or ability of your choice.
  • Retro Map Pack download code.

Pre-ordering from retailers other than GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon will score you the Retro Map Pack, but none of the special perks.

Watch that itchy trigger finger - Killzone 3 releases in North America on February 22, 2011, so you have some time to decide. That helmet is pretty badass, though.

The multiplayer perks, however, aren't really our cup of debris. Double XP and 24-hour instant weapon access are great and all, but we'd rather start from the bottom and work up without any promotional silliness in the way. That's part of the fun!

@Frootata Halo was the first generic game, and it spawned generic games all over. But I would buy this just for the helmet :P

I don't care for the helmet, but all that other stuff looks cool.

I love really cool special editions ( I went mental when Resident Evil 4 got released with a limited edition tin case!) and the prospect of a cool Helghast helmet that opens up with the game inside sounds mouth watering. Looks like I've got some time to save up for that steep price.

Looks pretty damn spiffy, save for the limited-time multiplayer stuff. The Marksman figure guy can go on my desk and hang out with my Chimeran Hybrid and one-handed Lars Umlaut.

Those multiplayer perks are lame, but everything else is awesome. If I had 130 bucks to burn, id probaly buy it. that Helghast Helmet would look bitchin on my Desk.

The line under the headline actually made me laugh out loud. Sounds a bit bitter- like you've regretted one of those collector's edition purchases Tyler. I know the feeling.
