I Am Alive is... alive! Since the first information on Ubisoft's
adventure title was released a few years back, the publisher has kept
the game very, very quiet. Its lack of a showing at trade shows and
conventions lead many to believe that it had simply been cancelled.
That's actually not the case, according to Ubisoft. Instead, the
publisher has reworked the game, and is not only moving forward with it,
but it's gunning for a 'winter' release for the Xbox Live
Arcade and PlayStation Network.
"We know people have been waiting for this game to arrive, and we
believe it's going to be worth the wait," said Adam Novickas, director
of marketing at Ubisoft, who apparently hasn't read any of the reviews for Duke Nukem Forever. "I Am Alive presents a unique take on the post
apocalyptic, survival genre by creating more complex and emotional
situations for the player. Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network are
the perfect platforms to leverage the mature and challenging experiences
of the game."
Ubisoft has also released a trailer for the title, which shows off some gameplay and awesome, gigantic enviornments. It looks like a lot of the time in I Am Alive will be spent trying not to die, which, we suppose, makes sense, considering the title. It wouldn't be all that appropriate if it ended up being a kart racer, would it?
