Grab your shoppin'-bucket for big sales from Origin and Good Old Games

Time-limited deals cut as much as 100%

If you are a fan of both videogames and paying less for things than you would usually be asked to do, allow us to draw your attention to two currently-happening events in the charging-money-for-videogames community. Good Old Games still hasn't sorted out that new acronym we asked for: apparently the staff have been too busy preparing a huge 50% off holiday sale that encompasses almost the site's entire catalog.

Here's the entire sale catalog. The site has oldies like Broken Sword and the original Gabriel Knight games for $3 each; more recent classics like Psychonauts and Beyond Good & Evil for $5; and, to get you in the door, Empire Earth: Gold Edition for free. That last one's only available until 2:59pm PST this Wednesday (Dec 14). The sale runs until Jan 2 – except for Activision titles, which you'll have to get before Dec 26 to receive the 50% off discount.

Origin has a similar deal going on, though with a much shorter timeline. For 40% off anything in the platform's library – including Arkham City, Battlefield 3, and sports titles like Madden, FIFA and NHL 12 – head to the store before the clock strikes midnight. The company's also offering free shipping this week on purchases over $39 – though, like the rest of the sale, this offer's only open to US customers.
