Earthbound now available on Wii U eShop

Practice your batting stance and shine up your Franklin badge, because Earthbound is now available on Wii U Virtual Console. Nintendo announced in a Nintendo Direct Mini today that the 1995 SNES RPG is finally back up for grabs worldwide.

This is Earthbound's first re-release ever in the U.S., and its first official appearance in Europe. Even the original packaged-in strategy guide has been Wii U optimized and is available for free on Nintendo's site.

It costs $10, which is a whole lot less than people are selling it for on eBay.

Could someone elaborate the Earthbound book available on Wii U? I downloaded the game and didn't see anything else. Is it only available through the Wii u web browser?

Never mind. Found the direct link on Destructoid.

After seeing Earthbound for over $200 at a pawn shop, this honestly feels like a system seller to me.

"early sales figures show the game were bought by the entire population of san francisco, doing okay everywhere else."

Queue more people being silly and complaining about anything on VC being more than $5! God damn people ;.; But for reals this is pretty neat. Mother 3 will maybe make its way onto VC eventually! Also all the work they did putting the guide built into the Wii u gamepad is pretty cool.

I'm still glad it came out but it is a little ridiculous that it costs more than other SNES games. Imagine if they increased the admission price by 20% when they re-released Star Wars in theaters because it was Star Wars. It's pretty silly.

Just remember that back in the days SNES games costed MUCH more, especially now when trying to find an.actual SNES cart

Episode 1 in 3D was pretty damn expensive I payed almost $15 for a ticket, but I think that was because it was in 3D and the theater near me is a rip off.

Sadly that's the standard price for 3D movies these days. :( Dredd was the only 3D movie I felt good about paying the increased price

Yeah that's true, the only thing the 3D did in Phantom Menace was remind me of how much that movie sucked.
