E3 2011: Hitman: Absolution trailer shows Agent 47 doing well at brutality, not so well at stealth

Still, he does that brutality VERY well...

Agent 47 needs to try a bit harder. It's not that we haven't been looking forward to his newest outing, Hitman: Absolution for years. And it's not that we're not damnably excited now that it's finally getting an outing for E3. But really, 47, with the kind of behaviour on show in this trailer you'll never nail that Silent Assassin rank. Top points for bodycount, but a big red cross when it comes to covering your tracks. Unless of course, your shoes are shaped like piles of dead bodies.

Has this whetted your appetite for Absolution, or just made you more frustrated by the wait to see some actual gameplay? Does 47's bull-in-a-china-shop brutality make you worry that he's lost his stealthy meticulous edge, or do you think he's just showing off for the E3 crowds?

I hope its just pandering but I think stealth can be really cool. The sophistication was what attracted us all to the game so why not show that off. Diana would have better security

I guess it just goes to show how bad I am at the Hitman series, but an option to go in like the badass he is in a non-stealthy way would fit me great. If it won't be like this, then oh well, I'll look forward to it still and struggle through it like the rest of the games. Either way, I CAN'T WAIT.

Pretty sure a noob was playing this trailer. If it was me, I would have garroted the first guard, dressed in his uniform, and just walked into the house. Anyways, if this game was anything like Blood Money then I will defenitely buy it.

Ok, I was a little upset with the lack of any outfit switching, syringe sticking, or other "Hitman" like qualities. However, a drowning silent kill would be awesome. And hearing her voice at the end made the entire thing 100x more awesome.

Sometimes there's a time for stealth and sometimes there's a time to go in loud. Would I have liked to see actual game play, sure but I dig the trailer; which ultimately was meant to give you the feeling this was more about emotion and not just another job.

@AlphaSignalSeven: She didn't really betray him. She just used him in her plan without telling him about it. Basically, she pumped him with a poison designed to make him seem dead. Then at his funeral that was held by the main bad guy, she gave him the antidote and a couple of pistols. So, not really a betrayal, but more of a buggerish move. I can see 47 not wanting to talk to her, but I can't see him wanting to kill her.

You never got to see Diane so, if that's Diane...well it's the first time ever that we've seen her face. She does whisper '47' and it sounds like a English accent. Really excited to see what's next. Hopefully they won't make him as arcade'ish as the new Splinter Cell though.

I cant believe that you completely skimmed over the most important thing in that trailer. Hell, it might even explain the gratuitous violence. 47 knows the woman in the shower. The woman in the shower knows 47.
