Battlefield Play4Free open beta launches today

Battlefield Play4Free, the new, free-to-play entry in the mega-popular Battlefield series, is now, well, free to play. The game, which was developed by EASY, has entered open beta, and you can check it out now at battlefield.play4free.com. The sign-up process is nice and simple - a quick account creation, soldier customization, and relatively-brief download and installation (took us about 30 minutes) is all that's between you and this:

I gave it a go, and it ran perfectly smoothly on my modest laptop. So what's stopping you? Look for 'TheBender' once you're in! Actually, don't look for me - if all goes well, you should never see me and my asshole sniping ways coming.

it's actually rather good, and the client is vastly superior now compared to the beta, the graphics is also much better than bf2

Good, some Battlefield to hold me over till the next Battlefield. That trailer really should've just been 2 minutes of an Apache circling a spawnpoint upsidedown though.

I tried the closed beta, I did not really like it when compared to battlefield 2 of BC2. But of course im comparing a beta to a full retail game but for me, I would much rather stick with with one of the other two games. But i guess this would be a good solution for those who want to play for free.

by the end of the trailer the song playing on my head was Cool Guys Don't Look At Explosions. havent played since a very early build of closed beta, looks far more enjoyable now
