Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury coming to XBLA on May 4th

D3Publisher announced today that Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury will be available on Xbox Live Arcade on May 4th. True to its name, the game is promised to feature "multitudes of explosive missiles" causing "a sensory overload." It most likely will, as the developer behind it, Treasure Co., Ltd., is responsible for plenty of acclaimed titles, such as Radiant Silvergun, and, of course, the original Bangai-O.

The game will cost 800 Microsoft Points ($10), and features over 100 levels. We haven't played it yet, so we can't speak from experience, but given Treasure's record, fans of mad crazy action sidescrollers will probably find something to enjoy.

I played Bangai-O Spirits on the DS, so 'm more than reedy for some bullet hell insanity.

It's too bad Microsoft paid off all the premier shooter devs in Japan to make inroads to the Japanese market, failed anyway, and divided an already niche market even further. Typical of Microsoft, yes, but still shitty none the less.

this comes out 4 days before my birthday, and it does look fun, I've been trying to look for a nice side-scroller shoot em' up

Please please please PLEASE make this Bangai-O like the dreamcast version and not the DS puzzle way.

Also, I'm not sure if Treasure has forums to get in contact with them. I know they have a website though. They have a contact link on the upper right of their home page, but I'm not sure if they would accept a fan/inquiry letter in English. http://www.treasure-inc.co.jp/index01.html

Well, I wouldn't say I was complaining or being too sarcastic, since I usually get to play Treasure games one way or another. It's just an inconvenience. I mean, the PS3 is a Japanese console, so how hard could it be to show some love to PSN? I remember that there were a couple Treasure shooters for the PS2, but I don't think all of them crossed the pond. At least I'm making a comment more worthwhile than "FIRST"...right? Maybe someday soon I will get a 360, but at the moment I have to save my money.

umm... time to get an xbox? LOL Anyways this game looks awesome as always, Treasure making the real deal. Can't wait for Radiant Silvergun to hit also.

IF you think ti's really unfair why aren't you complaining on the Treasure Forums? complaining here isn't going to do anything at all.

It really sucks that Treasure seems to only release home console versions of their games for the 360. I get that it's easier to do based on how Xbox Live works, but I feel pretty screwed that PSN doesn't get any of that. Unfortunately, I'm not going to invest in a 250GB Xbox any time soon, so it looks like I'm going to miss out...as usual. Thanks Treasure for making awesome games that I don't get to play until years afterwards.

    This looks promising.
