Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector's Edition is cooler than you think

Back in our day (read: 2003) we barely even had special editions. At best you'd get a company who would release a game encased in tin, throw in a few terrible bonus features and that would be all you got for your fifteen extra dollars.

These days awesome collector's editions are par for the course. Gearbox, specifically, seems to have a knack for CE's as evidenced by the awesome Borderlands 2 CE. Now, Gearbox has unveiled the new CE for Aliens: Colonial Marines, and it doesn't disappoint. Below you can find an image of everything that's included.

In it you'll find a copy of the game, iron-on patches, a schematic of the USS Sephora, "recon photos", a USCM graduation certificate, a replica xeno hive game case, and the pièce de résistance: a replica power loader figurine fighting a xenomorph. But they're not done yet! You'll also be able to play as several characters from the films.

All of this will run you $100, which isn't too bad if you're into this sort of thing. It sounds like a lot, but after the $60 cost of the game it's just $40 for a bunch of cool items which would cost you quite a bit more on ThinkGeek.

I have had enough waiting on this game. Second only to the last guardian, this game has to be the most delayed in history.

Oh, there are so much more than these two. Sure, they've been delayed a bit, but this isn't some DNF here. And remember SSBB? It got delayed within a week of its release, then I'm pretty sure it got delayed again before it finally came out. Then there's H-L 3 (don't even get me started), MGS:Rising (now Revengeance), Kingdom Hearts 3, and The Old Republic have seen or are still seeing longer delays than this. Nevertheless, this game looks sick. I'll have to wait to see if I can afford the CE when it comes out, but I've got plenty of time.

Or a real life pet face hugger? That would be awesome. I'd feed him a cat once a day and jahovas wittness wouldnt bother my place. Oh and a sign out front of my place saying beware of attack face hugger.

I remember my first Special Edition, Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast (at least I think it was a special edition). It came in a big tin case that now takes up space under my bed. Good times.
