360’s House Party coming soon, Alan Wake, Warp and I Am Alive on the XBLA guest list

Microsoft is having another special Live Arcade month to celebrate big titles

Words: on January 9, 2012

Though Summer of Arcade is normally the time of the year Xbox Live Arcade gets its biggest releases, that doesn’t mean Microsoft ignores the rest of the year. Last February XBLA had a House Party that featured games like Beyond Good & Evil HD and Torchlight. Thanks to a leaked trailer, it looks like it’s happening again, and this year includes some pretty big titles too.

Release ahead of an official announcement (that will probably happen during CES this week) the House Party 2012 trailer appeared on Live this morning and shows the four titles that are part of the event. You’ve got download-only sequel Alan Wake's American Nightmare, the top down puzzler Warp, the Unreal Tournament-ish Nexuiz, and Ubisoft’s long-awaited adventure I Am Alive. If the schedule matches last year’s, it should start mid-February, and the games should have at least a timed exclusivity on 360 (sorry PSN users). We’ll no doubt have specifics soon.
