X-Men: Apocalypse and the next solo Wolverine movie could film back to back next summer, according to producer Lauren Shuler Donner.
"We're absolutely trying, yes," said Donner, when asked whether the plan was to shoot the two films as closely together as possible.
"We announced Apocalypse to come out in 2016, so that means we have to shoot next summer. And then we’d have to shoot our new Wolverine movie either before or after that. I think after because it will come out after."
It's a piece of scheduling that would appeal to Hugh Jackman, who wouldn't have to spend quite so long in the gym if he could prepare for both films at once…
"I found out about [ X-Men: Days of Future Past ] a month before I finished The Wolverine , so I was already planning on my cheat meals. It’s much easier because it’s tough to get there, physically, but once you’re there, it’s easier to maintain it."
Sounds like he'll be dusting the claws off for a few more outings to come, then. X-Men: Apocalypse will open in the UK on 19 May 2016.
