Aside from a couple new posters, the marketing for Star Wars: Rogue One has been pretty quiet this month. That won't be the case in the coming weeks though, as according to StarWarsNews.net a new trailer for the highly anticipated anthology film is set to debut with another Disney film - Doctor Strange. Given that the Marvel film is scheduled for release in UK cinemas on October 25, it stands to reason that some fresh Rogue One footage will be online by the end of next month.
What exactly the fresh footage will show is anyone's guess at this point, although Elena Brodskaya - the head of Disney's Russian division who made the trailer announcement - noted that "the company will keep the movie's secrets" until release. Indeed, the trailers for The Force Awakens did a very good job of teasing without spoiling and similar could be said of the first two trailers for Rogue One, so I don't expect that to change with future promos.
One character we haven't really seen much of so far is Ben Mendelsohn's white-caped villain, so here's hoping Rogue One's third (and final?) trailer will focus a little more on the bad guys when it's unveiled next month.
Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is scheduled to open in UK and US cinemas on December 16, 2016.
