Star Wars: Rogue One is just over a week away – but it’s already got a big thumbs up from the father of Star Wars George Lucas in a conversation with director Gareth Edwards that he’ll “cherish and take to his grave”
Comicbook.com reports that Lucas saw the final cut recently and “loved the movie” That’s high praise indeed. Here’s hoping that Lucas was spot on with his opinion because George Lucas has never, ever been wrong before.
The Lucas seal of approval comes shortly after it was revealed that the brains behind Star Wars visited the Rogue One set and gave Edwards some crucial advice: “Don’t screw it up.” No pressure then…
The former Star Wars head honcho also joked that Edwards should take a lead from the prequels and “[they] should do more in the computer and not build so much” After the controversy over CGI changes to the original trilogy, we should thank our lucky stars that the Rogue One director didn’t take all of Lucas’ words to heart!
Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, and Mads Mikkelsen, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is released in the UK on December 15 and the US on December 16.
