Spider-Man: Homecoming’s runtime has been revealed, but how does it compare to the rest of the MCU movies?

Sitting comfortably? Good. The runtime of Spider-Man: Homecoming (opens in new tab) has just been revealed, but how does it compare to the rest of the MCU’s movies? Let’s clock up how Spidey’s latest offering fares when compared to the bum-numbing lengths of Marvel superhero marathons such as Avengers: Age of Ultron (opens in new tab) and Captain America: Civil War (opens in new tab).

Event Cinemas (H/T Screen Rant (opens in new tab)) has Spider-Man: Homecoming’s runtime listed as 130 minutes (2 hours 10 mins) which, interestingly enough, is the shortest Spidey flick since 2004’s Spider-Man 2, aka the Last Good Spider-Man Movie.

But we’re here for MCU comparisons. Deep breath, now…

The Avengers (opens in new tab) (143 minutes)

Avengers: Age of Ultron (141 minutes)

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (opens in new tab) (137 minutes)

Captain America: Civil War (136 minutes)

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (opens in new tab) (136 minutes)

Spider-Man: Homecoming (130 minutes)

Iron Man 3 (opens in new tab) (130 minutes)

Iron Man (opens in new tab) (126 minutes)

Iron Man 2 (opens in new tab)(125 minutes)

Captain America: The First Avenger (opens in new tab) (124 minutes)

Guardians of the Galaxy (opens in new tab) (122 minutes)

Ant-Man’s (opens in new tab)relatively tiny (obviously) running time of 116 minutes

Doctor Strange (opens in new tab) (115 minutes)

Thor (opens in new tab) (114 minutes)

The Incredible Hulk (opens in new tab) (112 minutes)

Thor: The Dark World (opens in new tab) (112 minutes)

That makes Spider-Man: Homecoming the 6th longest MCU movie. The five that beat it are, unsurprisingly, the pair of Avengers movies, Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – probably thanks to the five post-credits scenes – and, finally, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Spidey’s latest 130-minute offering also runs for the exact same amount of time as Iron Man 3, so get your stopwatches ready for that one, as it’s going down to the second.
