Shovel Knight getting a physical release - can you dig it?

Shovel Knight has conquered many foes on his journey, and now we can add "retail shelves" to the list. The retro platformer from Yacht Club Games is getting a physical release for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U and 3DS on October 13, 2015, and will sell for $19.99.

To give you an idea of how ridiculous this is, let's do some basic math. A Blu-ray disc - the medium used to store PS4 and Xbox One games - can hold roughly 50GB of data on a dual-layer disc. Shovel Knight, on the other hand, requires a little less than 200MB of free space, though it's possible that may swell upward as new features are added. Still, as it currently stands, the game's file size is less than half a single percent of what a PS4 disc can hold.
