Ratchet & Clank PS4 remake delayed to spring 2016

The new Ratchet & Clank for PS4 is retreating to its burrow (or wherever lombaxes live in the wild) for about a year. Insomniac Games announced that the reimagined take on the adventuresome duo's origin story is now planned for release in spring 2016, back from its initial release window of first-half 2015.

At least it won't be alone: the Ratchet & Clank film has also been pushed back, with a new opening date of April 29, 2016 in US theaters. The new game "ties in closely and expands upon the movie’s narrative" while retelling the events of the original game, working in new levels, weapons, and modern visuals along the way.

Insomniac said it will reveal more about the game soon (I sure hope they have more to share, since it was originally meant to ship by June) but it did at least confirm the roles for those recently revealed celebrity voice actors.

Paul Giamatti (The Illusionist, Sideways) will voice the big bad Chairman Drek, Sylvester Stallone plays his nefarious lieutenant Victor Von Ion, John Goodman portrays Ratchet's mentor Grimrath, and Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Daredevil) and Bella Thorne (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) play Elaris and Cora of the Galactic Rangers, respectively.

So… no shared Monsters, Inc. / Ratchet & Clank universe then. Back to my fanfiction I go.
