It's been almost 30 years and multiple unworthy sequels and crossovers since Arnold Schwarzenegger's Predator, but the franchise is still going strong. The next director to take a crack at it will be none other than Shane Black, who is currently putting the finishing touches to 2016 blockbuster The Nice Guys.
Black will be sharing writing duties with Fred Dekker, and the film - which will simply be titled The Predator - now has its first poster. Check it out below...
The 'You'll never see him coming' tagline immediately brings Ben Kingsley's villain in Iron Man 3 (also directed by Black) to mind, but it definitely makes sense for the camouflage-prone predator. The picture originally debuted on the film's Facebook page along with the message "Here we go again, bro" - a nice nod to Bill Duke's line in the 1987 classic.
There's not much more to be gleaned from this first poster, and save for the fact that it's being fashioned as more of a continuation than a reboot, we don't know too much about The Predator just yet. Expect that to change once Black starts filming.
Directed by Shane Black and presumably starring some pretty good actors, the release date for The Predator is yet to be announced.
