Filming on Ant-Man might be well underway, but that hasn’t stopped the project from adding another name to its ensemble, with Martin Donovan signing on to join the cast.
The Weeds actor has agreed to take an undisclosed role in the film, and while the character’s identity is shrouded in mystery, THR describes him as “pivotal”.
Given that filming has been going on for some two months now, we’d assumed that Donovan’s role is a minor one, with possible significance to a future film.
Marvel does like to set up future movies in plenty of time, and it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility to see Donovan crop up in a post-credits sequence, except for the fact that the studio tends to play them a little closer to the chest than this…
In any case, Donovan will be joining Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly et al, with the film set to arrive in UK cinemas on 17 July 2015.
