How to complete Fortnite bounties

Triggering Fortnite bounties puts you into a personal 1 on 1 deathmatch with a randomised opponent, who you then need to track down and eliminate before the timer runs out. You can collect these from the various Fortnite bounty boards dotted around the island at named locations and other landmarks, and you'll see a target icon on your map when you get close to the board. Not only can these assignments earn you rewards and remove one more player standing between you and a Victory Royale, but they also feature in Fortnite quests from time to time, so it pays to know where to find them. Most recently they have appeared in the Fortnite Geralt quests, which challenge you to complete three bounties, so we've got the lowdown on where to find the Fortnite bounty board locations and how to complete them once they're started.

Where to find Fortnite Bounty Boards

There are currently 13 Fortnite bounty board locations scattered around the island. We've marked them all on the map below, which translate to these named locations and landmarks:

  • Anvil Square
  • Breakwater Bay
  • Brutal Bastion
  • The Citadel
  • Cold Cavern (northwest of Brutal Bastion)
  • Faulty Splits
  • Frenzy Fields
  • Humble Hamlet (south of Faulty Splits)
  • Lonely Labs
  • Pleasant Passage
  • Rocky Docks (west of Shattered Slabs)
  • Shattered Slabs
  • Slappy Shores

As you can see, there are boards available for you to start Fortnite bounties at every named location, plus a few extra thrown in at certain landmarks to bulk up the numbers and reduce the distances between them.

Once you accept one of the Fortnite bounties, you'll get a notification on your screen with the name of the enemy player you need to eliminate, along with a picture of their character so you know who to look for. A yellow circle will appear on your map, giving you a rough idea of where your target is, and although it only updates every few seconds you can still use it to roughly track their direction of movement. When you find the target, take them out and you'll receive a Bounty Complete notification along with your reward for completing your Fortnite bounty.

If another player eliminates the enemy player before you do, you'll get a Bounty Poached notification instead, though helpfully you'll still receive a smaller gold bars reward and for the purpose of quests it counts as one of your completed Fortnite bounties. If you're working through a quest that requires a number of bounties to be completed, it's worth accepting them wherever you can as other players may end up doing the work for you.
