Emilia Clarke says Game of Thrones season 6 almost killed everyone

The Screen Actor's Guild awards took place last week, and among the many faces doing the red carpet rounds were Game of Thrones actresses Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, and Sophie Turner. As you might expect they were all asked about the upcoming season of the show, and from the sounds of things, it'll be worth the wait.

Speaking to E! Online, Clarke - who will be reprising her role as Daenerys Targaryen - stated that the upcoming season "legitimately almost killed" the cast and crew who worked on the production, adding that: "It is epic. It is huge. It’s insane."

When last we saw Arya the character had just gone blind, and Williams spoke to Vulture about her use of blind contact lenses; "They’re very painful, they’re like huge and they’re very thick. Pretending to be blind is much easier when you actually can’t see anything. So I did actually love them. For close-ups and stuff it was great, but for wide shots I was like, ‘Can we take them out? Is that okay?’"

As for the other Stark, in what comes as great news for those who hate Ramsay Bolton (read: everyone), Turner told Entertainment Weekly that Sansa is "really coming into her own" in season 6. "She really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good." Is it April yet?

Season 6 of Game of Thrones premieres on HBO on April 24, 2016 in the US, and airs on Sky Atlantic the next day in the UK.
