Crysis was a thesis for PC superiority over consoles when it released in 2007. It was heavily promoted as being too “advanced” and “powerful” to run on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, and featured graphics that looked years ahead of anything found on consoles. Sure, it required an absurdly expensive gaming rig to even think about playing it on the highest settings, but that was the price that needed to be paid for the amazing realism of Crysis—for an experience that simply couldn’t be had on consoles. Oh, what a difference a few years can make.
Now, not only is the original Crysis coming out on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but it’s going to be downloadable, have improved controls, feature Stereoscopic 3D support, and, better yet, sport an enhanced presentation over the PC version.
