Twitch Xbox 360 app launches today

Why play video games on your Xbox 360 when you can watch other people play them?

Twitch is launching its very own Xbox Live app today. The first of its kind for the game-centric streaming service, viewers can browse its top 300 channels based on traffic and spectate their cares away.

Not only is the app free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers, it's ad-free, a Twitch representative told us. That makes it a very compelling alternative to hunching over your monitor or hooking your computer up to your television.

Twitch is already embedded into some games like Black Ops 2, letting players easily stream footage from their consoles. Now, you can watch those streams from the very same place (as long they're a top-300 channel).

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
