Even though the best offers tend to be reserved for Amazon technology or other hardware (such as Prime Day laptop deals), that isn't to say savings on Lego aren't out there waiting for you. In fact, you can get whopping discounts on must-have sets if you go looking. Indeed, it's not uncommon to see lowest-ever prices during the sale.
To make sure you're making the most of Prime Day, here's some advice based on my years of covering the sales event.
So far as specific sets go, it depends on where you're based. If you live in the US, I'd definitely keep an eye on the Imperial Star Destroyer; this model has only had one major cut since it launched, and that was for Prime Day. It's still popular enough to make me think a discount is on the cards this sales season.
Similarly, I can see a lot of Fortnite kits such as the Battle Bus crashing down in cost because they haven't had many significant price cuts before, alongside a lot of Botanicals and mid-price Star Wars kits such as R2-D2. That's simply tradition for Prime Day at this point, and in my experience, the latter tend to make up the lion's share of reductions.
It's a bit spicier in the UK. While all of the above is still true across the pond, I find the British Prime Day Lego deals superior to their US counterparts on the whole - you can get steeper savings on high-profile mega-sets like the Deku Tree or Rivendell. Keep an eye on both of those (they received an eye-catching price cut last Prime Day, so I see that happening again), but also look to newer models like Bag-End and the UCS Jango Fett ship. Something tells me they're due a discount as well.
