In the aftermath of this week’s thrilling Mad Max: Fury Road trailer, star of the show Tom Hardy has spoken out about his commitment to the franchise. His first appearance as the badass road warrior will hit screens next month in George Miller’s bold reboot of the series, and should that go well he’s more than willing to strap himself in for future installments.
During an interview with Esquire Hardy spoke enthusiastically about what audiences can expect from Fury Road and the pressure he dealt with during production, “I’ve never been more excited and out of my comfort zone,” he said, before going on to describe the upcoming blockbuster as “f**king unbelievable.”
He also confirmed that he’s contracted for an additional three movies should the first outing prove to be a success, “Everything’s based on figures and how things are perceived. Inevitably it’s a business.”
With Warner Bros. going all-out on their pre-release marketing blitz, the anticipation for the sun-scorched movie continues to mount. Mad Max: Fury Road is scheduled to screen at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and Fast & Furious 7 ticket holders in the UK will be treated to a six-minute sizzle reel attached to the petrolhead sequel. The rest of the world can check out George Miller’s newest adventure in the Wasteland when it opens on May 15.
