Three unused posters for The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises came out at the cinema months ago (it’s almost out on Blu-ray/DVD), so it was an unexpected but pleasant surprise to see three new posters emerge.

‘New’ might not be the correct term actually, as these three one-sheets weren’t ever actually used.

Trailer Park revealed the designs on their website though, so at least they get to see the light of day. And deservedly so too, as they’re moodily impressive in their own right.

You get Christian Bale’s Batman striking an iconic pose, swathed in his enormous cape. You get Tom Hardy’s Bane in that familiar stance, inviting Gotham’s self-appointed protector for a scrap.

And most intriguingly of all, there’s a stylised Bane-inspired teaser, hinting at an element of the viral marketing campaign that never came to fruition.

The Dark Knight Rises hits DVD and Blu-ray on 3 December 2012.
